The façade was the work of the sculptor Jaume Padró, and behind it lies the old church of Sant Joan Degollat, dedicated to John the Baptist, which had been used to collect the tithe, and also as a hospital. It was also the seat of the brotherhood of Saint John and Saint Eloi, the town’s largest, which brought together a number of various trades.
