7. Arcades and Inn

The only arcade left is at the lower end of the Carrer Major, near the old town gate set in the wall. It consist of vaults supported by pillars. The others were demolished during the works carried out on the occasion of the visit by king Carlos IV. In the 18th century the chapel of Santa Anna was built near the gate, thereby increasing the number of chapels there were in Cervera, such as those of Sant Cristòfol, Sant Miquel and Sant Magí. The Ignàsia Brach inn was on the corner of the Carrer Major and the Salí alleyway, the “Nasa Tabaco”.
